About
Tara Gontkovic is a Czech-American stage/event manager and scenic painter from Columbus, Ohio. She has loved theatre, art and live entertainment for as long as she could remember and has worked on theatre in every aspect. When she was fifteen she found stage management and knew what she was meant to do.
Along with stage managing, Tara is a painter and scenic painter as well. She has been painting her whole life and primarily loves working with acrylic. She has worked with commission based small scale paintings and larger scale murals and scenic painting within theatre in her time.
Tara thrives around people, change and chaos. She loves the thrill of problem solving quickly in live event settings and is often described as very adaptable.
She has been working as an Assistant Stage Manager since she was sixteen years old, hopping around Columbus with anything she could help work on. She graduated high school and attended Webster University’s Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts in St. Louis, Missouri for a year before transferring to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah where she is now a current student getting her BFA in Stage Management.
When not stage managing, Tara loves to do as many things as humanly possible, including; traveling the world, going camping & hiking, obsessing over the Olympics, enjoying people’s company, eating every food ever, dancing, reminiscing about her entire life, and talking 24/7.
